Free Exalted Warrior Yoga Class for Military and First Responders

Mindful Movements Yoga is excited to offer a new class that is free for all military veterans, active duty military, active first responders, and retired first responders.

All levels are welcome. Most (but not all) of the veterans/first responders who come to classes have never done yoga before attending. The instructor will help you get started with the class and you will very quickly start to notice you feel better, however, we think you will find that the camaraderie will be what keeps you coming back. These classes often provide: community, friendship, support, mutual trust, and a sense of belonging.

Participants should wear comfortable clothing they can move in. You can sit on a chair or use a mat. If you do not have your own mat, we will provide one for you. You have complete control over your own practice. You are free to sit or lay down, simply breathing, for an entire class if you wish. The choice is yours. This class is trauma-sensitive and based on practices that are evidence-based and culturally informed. This class is open to all ability levels and includes mindful movement, breathing practices and postures that help decrease stress, increase resilience and provide an overall increase in physical and mental well-being. For those who have PTSD, TBI, MST or have experienced trauma, this class will be particularly helpful for fostering post-traumatic growth.

Clinical studies show that yoga for veterans and first responders can help individuals sleep better, enjoy a greater sense of well-being, cope with and even resolve anxiety and fear, find relief from the “fight or flight” response, and control anger and strong emotions.

Please provide proof of service for your first class
